For the cover design of my own book, I utilized AI art to create a unique and captivating visual. Leveraging advanced AI algorithms, I generated intricate and imaginative designs that resonate with the book's theme. This approach allowed for a dynamic fusion of creativity and technology, resulting in a cover that is both modern and visually striking. The use of AI art also enabled experimentation with various styles and compositions, ultimately selecting a design that perfectly complements the manuscript's content and tone. To refine the AI-generated image, I used Photoshop and Canva for retouching and final touches.

Objective

The main goal was to create a book cover that stands out in the market, captures the essence of the book, and intrigues potential readers. The cover needed to reflect the manuscript’s content and tone while showcasing an innovative and contemporary design approach.

Design Approach

Utilization of Leonardo.ai: AI Algorithms: Leveraged advanced AI algorithms to generate a variety of designs, specifically focusing on creating a watercolor tree in the background and children praying/meditating in front of the tree. The AI tool analyzed the themes and keywords related to the book, producing a range of intricate and imaginative visuals.

Experimentation: The AI-enabled experimentation with various styles, compositions, and color schemes. This allowed for exploration beyond traditional design boundaries, creating a visually compelling and thematically appropriate cover.

Retouching in Photoshop


Detail Enhancement: Used Photoshop to enhance the intricate details of the AI-generated design, particularly the watercolor effects of the tree and the playful children. This included adjusting levels, contrast, and sharpness to ensure the image was visually striking and clear


Color Correction: Applied color correction techniques to align the cover’s palette with the book's theme, ensuring a cohesive and harmonious visual appearance


Layer Adjustments: Utilized Photoshop’s layering capabilities to add depth and refine the composition, making subtle adjustments to elements for a balanced and engaging design.

Final Touches in Canva


Text Placement: Used Canva to experiment with text placement and typography. This involved selecting fonts that complemented the AI art and adjusting the layout to ensure readability and aesthetic appeal.

Graphic Elements: Added final graphic elements and overlays in Canva to enhance the overall design. This included subtle embellishments and effects that aligned with the book’s theme and added a professional touch.

Creativity and Technology Fusion
